I just heard the Daft Punk album for the first time yesterday, and both of those songs are great. It's also cool to see "Demons" by The National on your list. Nice work!

Delete@Dan Heaton: If you can handle the electronic vocal, Daft Punk was a definite album highlight this year, the opening guitar riff in “Give Life Back to Music” is epic! The National album is really good too. Thanks for commenting.
"Giorgio by Moroder" is my favorite track from the new Daft Punk album, but you can't go wrong with any of them really.
ReplyDelete"Demons" is a definite highlight from Trouble Will Find Me.
Forgot there was a new Wire album. Great track -- will have to give all of it a listen.
"Tap Out" sounds a lot like a Phoenix song. Quite the departure of the Strokes of old.
Eric @ The Warning Sign: I love when he in "Giorgio By Moroder" talks about wanting to ”create the sounds of the future” , that’s ingenious.
DeleteI read the Wire album is based on ideas from 1979/1980, which is probably why it doesn’t sound like 2013 music.
2-3 tracks I enjoyed on new Strokes album, the rest didn’t do much for me, but who knows, maybe album would work for you.
I dig the tracks from Daft Punk, Franz Ferdinand, David Bowie, and The National. Also glad to see "Dance Apocalyptic" in your top 30.
ReplyDelete@Josh: Happy you dig those tracks, I remember you wrote you are a fan of Franz Ferdinand. Figured you’d appreciate the inclusion of ”Dance Apocalyptic” :)
