Say Anything is a trailer I've watched more times than I care to admit! I love everything about it, the scenes that were picked, the use of music, etc. Takes you back to the 80s, and being a teen. The film is great too.

Anonymous (2011) 10 Reasons Why Shakespeare Is a Fraud trailer edit

The trailer is very interesting and contemplative, but doesn't fit the tone of the movie at all. Anonymous is historical fiction, a visual feast, a blend of dialogue and action scenes. The trailer surprised me in a good way, and made me wonder why Emmerich didn't direct a documentary instead?

Salmon Fishing in the Yemen (2011). Directed by Lasse Hallström who is known fo his warm-hearted films. One of my anticipated releases of spring 2012, out in March in US, April in UK cinemas. Looks strangely indie yet mainstream at the same time. I can't remember if Ewan McGregor has ever played a geek before? Cool to see him as a nerd for a change, I wonder if that will be believable? Readers, any thoughts on the trailer?

I've not been hearing very good things about the film, the trailer for Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close (2011) impressed me. A U2 song has seldom been so powerfully used. Readers, any thoughts?

Don't be fooled. I've never seen such a bad movie with such a great trailer. I don't know whether to praise the makers of the trailer, or call them manipulative. What do you think?

Could be perceived as slightly schmaltzy and sentimental, but the trailer and anime movie really work I think due to the peaceful images and haunting voice-overs. Here's a link to my review of 5 centimeters per second (2007)

Into the wild (2007). Such a well-crafted trailer that contains some of the best quotes. The clip also has a highly emotional ending, which I like, and of course the scenery and landscape is magnificent. Maybe they could have included a bit more of Eddie Vedders memorable soundtrack, but still a trailer I can return to every few months, and continues to give me chills. For me, Sean Penn is an underrated director. The Indian Runner (1991) and The Pledge (2001) are little gems just waiting to be discovered.

Inspired by Let's be splendid about this, I decided to start a new weekly blogathon on movies and songs 365. My favourite trailers that I enjoy rewatching...

I've seen The Tree of Life trailer so many times I've lost count, ha ha ( : What strikes me is how in just 2 minutes 11 seconds it manages to stir my emotions, with epic music, breathtaking images, and memorable words. It has the full package and does everything well. Really sells that film. Wouldn't be surprised if Malick put the trailer together himself. Any thoughts on the trailer?
