I joined letterboxd !
Here's the link, feel free to follow me, if you are already there.
Letterboxd is a social network for sharing your taste in film. A movie journal of what you watched, rated, and (if you want) reviewed. I think you can only join, if someone sends you an invite. A fellow LAMB invited me, and I see many others from LAMB community have accounts at letterboxd. However, anyone can surf the site for reviews, lists and ratings, even if you don't have a profile.
Happy "letterboxing" :)

Really like the site, helps me keep track of what I'm watching which frightens me a little - so many rewatches :)
ReplyDelete@Sati: I'm sure I'll have fun with letterboxd! I guess a bonus is you can share your ratings/reviews with new people, who don't know your blog
DeleteI'm absolutely useless with Letterboxd. It's an awesome idea and a great site but I just never get round to doing it. Must get in the habit. Anyway I'm now following you!
ReplyDelete@Pete: I suppose letterboxd takes some getting used to. The lists I've found there have been interesting. Thanks for the follow!
DeleteGlad you enjoyed the site! I love the interface, and what a great way to keep a film journal. I still don't know how to add a movie that's not listed, a little complicated to do it
ReplyDelete@Andina: Yes I am enjoying letterboxd :) I don't know how to add a movie that's not listed either. Hopefully will become easier over time. I think it's still a beta version, so there may be improvements on the way.
DeleteChris,it's a pity that you missed my post about the reasons to join letterboxd here http://www.tasteofcinema.com/2012/7-reasons-you-should-use-letterboxd-as-your-movie-social-network/,it's such a sensational social platform for film buffs.
ReplyDeleteAnyway,I already followed you,and let's get in touch there!
@David: I'll check that letterboxd article you wrote, and thanks for following!
DeleteGlad to have you on board! I'm hooked on Letterboxd -- it's an addictive little site. Consider myself a new follower of yours. :)
ReplyDelete@Eric: Thanks for the follow. It will be interesting to see if I get hooked as well ( :
ReplyDeleteI love the site, but a couple things bother me about it. I think it grew too fast; it times out and is often really slow refreshing. Also many of the titles I watch aren't in the database. Since I've joined, I've had to add a few dozen titles and it gets tiring when all you want to do is check off a film.
ReplyDelete@Bonjour Tristesse: letterboxd isn't perfect, I noticed the slowness a couple of times too. It did bother me that several films I wanted to add for my watch-list were not there.
DeleteEveryone's signing up to Letterboxd... I feel like I'm missing out! But then I know, I'll sign up and forget about the place!
ReplyDeleteSo, how's it working out for you? Worth it?
@Jaina: I'm enjoying letterboxd so far. I still have 1 invite left (you get 3 in total). If you're interested in joining? Send me an e-mail(is on my blogger profile). The site requires the other person's e-mail address, and the only way to join letterboxd is via invites.
DeleteI love the site because it helps me keep track of what I watch without keeping a written list. Plus, I can see what others are watching and their ratings, which is interesting. Happy to be one of your letterboxd followers, Chris. :)
ReplyDelete@Josh: That's true, and seeing what others are watching and rating is indeed interesting. See you around on letterboxd!
DeleteIt sounds like they are still in Beta, if you needed an invite. They've been this way for something like 9 months. If they ever decide to go live I will look into using it, but until then I am fine with my Netflix ratings.
ReplyDelete@Chip Lary: I don't have any invites left, so I couldn't give you one, even if you requested it. Maybe see you on letterboxd in the future then.
