Social experiment: Sitting very close to people
Know the feeling when someone stands too close to you on public transport? I had that happen yesterday waiting for the train door to open, and you just want to get away, but without being rude to them. It's not an easy situation to be in, as some people don't even think about standing next to you. It could be a sign of affection or interest, while for others it's uncomfortable. The video had me laughing, and nodding in approval, and realizing that just maybe I'm not alone with this feeling. Perhaps those who watch will have an epiphany, and learn to respect people's boundaries.

Hahah, love this! I personally don't like weird people sitting too close to me though. But when they're good-looking or something, it's cool :)
ReplyDelete@Mette: Happy you were entertained by the post! It's quite a fun video, isn't it? I think most can relate on some level, we've all been in these type of situations.
DeleteHa! This is funny. I absolutely HATE it when people sit ridiculously close to me when there's not need! I figured it was just because I was being terribly British ;)
ReplyDelete@Jaina: Pretty nerve wracking when that happens : ) I’ve got to know people, before I feel comfortable with them that close. Odd thing, if you tell them to “stay back”, or you move away, then you become the weirdo :)
DeleteIt is uncomfortable... because generally, (unless they are filming a prank) there are only 3 reasons why someone would invade your personal space:
ReplyDelete1. They want to hit on you.
2. They want to sell you something.
3. They want to rob you.
@Bonjour Tristesse: The woman didn’t want to sell me anything, so probably one of the other two. I think robbing is also out of the question. So we are down to they want to hit on you :)
DeleteBrilliant! We spend enough time crammed together in this country!
ReplyDelete@Pete Turner: It’s odd spending so much time with strangers on a train during our life. For all we know they could be mass murders! Though most are harmless :)
DeleteAhah too funny Chris! It doesn't bother me when I'm on a plane but I don't take public transports that often so it sometimes still feels weird when I'm on an elevator and someone is standing too close to me.
ReplyDelete@Ruth: Thanks for chiming in! Elevators can be quite cramped, usually only take a few minues, so not too bad I guess.
DeleteHaha, this was so funny! Nice post, Chris.
ReplyDelete@Josh: That stone-faced guy is pretty funny to watch! :)
