I could never get into James Blake. He's just not my thing. I do love the soundtracks for Trance and Only God Forgives.
ReplyDeleteI'm mixed on the new Black Sabbath album. I like the heaviness but I feel like it's not enough as it's not a true Sabbath album because Bill Ward isn't there. It doesn't have his swinging power that the original band is known for. Without Ward, it's not Black Sabbath.

DeleteNot really familiar with Black Sabbath’s discography, but I found that particular ballad quite haunting, it reminds me of Black by Pearl Jam. Not as great as Pearl Jam’s track, but “Zeitgeist” will probably move into my top 100 tracks of 2013.
I love the Spring Breakers soundtrack. That's my kind of music. Digging the Only God Forgives and Trance tracks.

ReplyDelete@Ruth: Only God Forgives soundtrack has an Asian influence that could appeal to you. The movie takes place in Bangkok, though I’ve heard is very violent, so I didn't go and see it.
