There's a new record right now that I really like, the new Deerhunter Monomania. It's not as weird as their previous albums but still damn good.
ReplyDelete@thevoid99: I liked a few tracks on Halcyon Digest (2010), so we'll see if Monomania grabs my attention. Thanks for telling.
DeleteI haven't listened to any of these, but thanks for the heads-up. These will make a nice reference for me as I catch up.
ReplyDelete@Josh: You're welcome! I feel like I've caught up now of releases between January-April. Except these:
DeleteFree the Universe - Major Lazer (April 16)
Bankrupt! - Phoenix (April 23)
Ultramarine - Young Galaxy (April 23)
A Bad Wind Blows In My Heart – Bill Ryder Jones (April 23)
I quite like Dido's voice, whenever it's on the radio, I don't turn the channel :D Haven't heard of the rest [sheepish smile]
ReplyDelete@Ruth: I like her vocal too. I wouldn't call this Dido's best album, though it does have a number of pretty good tracks.
DeleteIs it just me or Dido's voice is similar to The Cranberries' vocalist Dolores O'Riordan's?
Delete@Ruth: Depends on the song. In my opinion, a track such as "Dreams" by The Cranberries not so much, but on certain tracks like "Ordinary Day" by Dolores O'Riordan, then there are definitely similarities.
DeleteI've got that album from How to Destroy Angels on my "to try" playlist in spotify. Need to give it a listen soon.
ReplyDelete@Jaina: It's worth a try. How to Destroy Angels album reminds me of the music from Fight Club.
DeleteHaven't heard any of these, but I'm queuing them up in Spotify right now. Digging How to Destroy Angels already. :)
ReplyDelete@Eric: I guess my post was pretty useful then :) If you like the soundtracks of Trent Reznor, there's a good chance you'll get into his side-project How to Destroy Angels.
