You may feel uncomfortable about the racism though. <br />I haven't seen Abraham Lincolm. I've got Intolerance on my watchlist, which was D.W. I can't say I'm looking forward to it, but I feel like I need to see it. The only D.W. Griffith film I've seen is Abraham Lincoln, which was very underwhelming. Hopefully, I'll appreciate TBOAN as a piece of film history at least.Joshhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08596682195753811295noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1619249406686227577.post-87709490619675558452014-11-16T02:20:32.539-08:002014-11-16T02:20:32.539-08:00@Wendell Ottley: Yep, a technical wonder, yet the ...@Wendell Ottley: Yep, a technical wonder, yet the content is troubling to say the least. There's no question its a technical wonder that changed the way movies are made. Sure, the techniques pioneered are commonplace now, but represent a leap forward in the evolution of the medium. Just look up some pre-1915 films to see the difference. All of that said, the content was impossible to swallow. I am black and it felt like I was watching a KKK recruitment film. Seeing it once was definitely enough for me.Wendell Ottleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13472743980681912924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1619249406686227577.post-19382263775569414172014-10-30T05:17:00.381-07:002014-10-30T05:17:00.381-07:00@Mette: Birth of a Nation is nothing special to to...@Mette: Birth of a Nation is nothing special to today’s audiences, I think the key is to try and see it with the eyes of someone from 1915. Probably as groundbreaking as the invention of color, talking film, or when we first saw 3D.Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09395044055566348346noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1619249406686227577.post-77104644689325292082014-10-30T05:15:22.722-07:002014-10-30T05:15:22.722-07:00Eric @ The Warning Sign: Thanks, I'm pleased t...Eric @ The Warning Sign: Thanks, I'm pleased to have finally crossed it off the list :) I didn’t love it, and it’s disturbing that it ignited a revival of the Ku Klux Klan, but I can appreciate D.W.
