I agree caring about the main character can be an obstacle in the case of this film. <br />I just think it might have gone into sappy territory with that approach, and sacrificed realism. That’s just me, I think it was intentional that Wendy is difficult to like/understand. Wendy and Lucy really is a difficult Cannes type of film moving at the pace of real life, and not an emotionally manipulative Oscar film where we so often are force-feed who we are supposed to root for. We agree about it reflecting the homeless society. I just did not like or care about her as much and I wish I did. You do make a good point about it reflecting the homeless society. I just wanted a better character. M Williams does a great job. The story is sparse, and moves very slowly, so is not for everyone.Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09395044055566348346noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1619249406686227577.post-33521148807744169412014-06-06T16:17:03.206-07:002014-06-06T16:17:03.206-07:00Definitely my favorite Kelly Reichardt film so far...Definitely my favorite Kelly Reichardt film so far as it is just this devastating portrait of a young woman trying to get back her dog and find a place to work at a time when work is becoming scarce. Sounds like an interesting premise to me, I think people who have had a pet in their life could relate to this. Williams is a great actress, I could see her hold your interest even if there's not a lot happening in the film.ruthhttp://flixchatter.netnoreply@blogger.com
